3G Chemical Solutions had several goals that they needed help achieving:
- a simple, intuitive checkout process that is mobile-friendly and seamless
- a plan for implementing a monthly subscription service for chemical products
- introduce a new guest checkout process
- adapt a traditional e-commerce checkout experience to accommodate the nuances of 3G’s business
To achieve these goals, we created user journeys to outline the various steps a customer would need to take in order to complete checkout process, eliminating sticking points to make it easy and intuitive. One challenging aspect to 3G’s checkout experience is that they only sell to vetted businesses who provide an EIN and other business documentation. We needed to find a way to design their solution to account for this nuance, while keeping the checkout flow as simple as possible. We then translated those user journeys into wireframes that will be used to guide the development team implementing the new e-commerce solution.
