College football coaches hire the professionals at Elite Source Evaluators (ESE) to provide detailed evaluations of prospective athletes. Savvy Otter is ESE’s software development partner. We designed a seamless, intuitive MVP for Savvy Otter that enabled their team to provide a detailed, accurate estimate for their development work.
Discovery
We kicked off the project with a design & strategy workshop to identify business goals, pain points, and understand the primary user flows. We also worked through a scoping exercise to identify the feature set needed for the first release of their new responsive web app.
The primary flows included:
- ability for an ESE admin to find and select players to assign to an evaluator
- ability for evaluators to quickly and easily rate, rank, and add notes to players
- ability to generate a report to email to a coach
Design
For our proof of concept, we focused on a dark mode that utilized the client’s brand colors. We kept the navigation simple and modular to support the different user roles within the system.
Through our design services, Savvy Otter was able to deliver a more accurate estimate, increase efficiency, reduce risk in their development work, and ultimately deliver a better product for the end users.
