Savvy Otter partnered with LunarLab to redesign the MVP they’d built for their client, Signature Landscape. The product had the functionality needed for rollout, but some of the main user flows were clunky and it wasn’t designed mobile-first. Landscaping crews that are working onsite needed a mobile-friendly application. The main goals were to:
- transform their current MVP into a scalable SaaS product
- make managing landscaping crews and projects easy and seamless
- optimize the application to be responsive across any device size
- make the product more beautiful to increase traction and attract investors
Design
We spent time better understanding the primary user roles in the system and what each role’s primary goals were.
Operations managers were primarily working at their desks and were assigning tasks to the crews who reported up to them. It’s their job to ensure the tasks are completed on time and with quality. We created queues to make it easy and quick to review and approve completed tasks.
For Crew Leaders who are working at job sites, it was imperative that they are able to see what their crew needs to accomplish every day. They need to see each task assigned, and be able to quickly upload & submit photos of completed work to their operations managers for approval – all from their mobile devices.
We also gave the application a UI refresh with updated color scheme and custom font.
