Problem Statement & Objective
It can be difficult for people who are deaf or hard of hearing to interact and respond to auditory experiences in their environment. In a world optimized for hearing people, sounds are around us every day – from important events like smoke alarms to beeps letting us know that food has finished cooking in the microwave. The SoundSafe app converts sound input from a smart device’s microphone into visual or haptic alerts, giving the user a sense of safety and comfort.
