Discovery & Research
When redesigning a website, it’s important to understand a few things first: why is a redesign necessary, what do you hope to accomplish, and how will you measure the success of the new design? Once we understood the why behind the redesign, it was time to start understanding what problems exist. We analyzed the existing website data to identify potential problems, like which areas of the site get the most and least traffic, which sections people engage with most, and how traffic flows through the site. Using this information, we began interviewing potential customers to ensure we had the full picture.
Through our interviews, we identified a few key issues through our interviews:
people understood the services being offered, but not how those services helped their specific problems
people wanted to see proof – what results have you delivered for other companies like mine?
the site didn’t have the “wow” factor needed to differentiate from the competition
Design
We redesigned Uptick Marketing’s homepage to describe the services offered using everyday language. This helps people who aren’t as familiar with digital marketing understand how Uptick can help. We also displayed their case studies prominently on the homepage to clearly show results of previous engagements. Lastly, we used a combination of doodles, playful photography and minimalist design to create a more fun and engaging homepage that better represents Uptick’s brand.
