LunarLab Benefit Charter
Working towards a better world
LunarLab is a Benefit Corporation
LunarLab Benefit LLC reorganized to become a public benefit corporation in 2022. This means that we’re a for-profit company, but public benefit is part of the legal structure of the company, and must be considered in our decision-making. Our decision-making process and goals are outlined in the following charter.
Each calendar year, we will provide a publicly-available Launch Report to share our social impact and progress towards our goals.
LunarLab Benefit Charter
1. LunarLab’s mission is to empower dreamers to create meaningful, impactful products through collaboration and innovation. We will work to design solutions that are innovative, human-centered, ethical, and inclusive.
- LunarLab believes that we are responsible for what we put into the world. We will work to build the best products without causing unnecessary harm.
- LunarLab will work to create positive social, economic, and environmental impact (and reduce negative impact) by promoting inclusive, empathetic, diverse, quality technology to entrepreneurs, business owners, and product users from all walks of life.
- We believe that the best design work is always the work that puts people at the heart of the design. When design is truly centered around people, it must include all people regardless of their race, age, ability or disability, socioeconomic background, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender expression, marital status, religion, sexual orientation, neurodiversity, physical appearance, color, veteran status, or any other lived experiences.
- LunarLab will never intentionally design software solutions that reinforce discrimination, bias, racism, colorism, classism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, or harm of any kind.
- LunarLab will never intentionally design software solutions that manipulates others, invades privacy, uses data in harmful ways, restricts the freedom of marginalized communities, or is based on biased assumptions.
- We believe that inclusive tech is a journey, not a destination. We will continue learning so that we can improve our work.
2. LunarLab’s daily operations reflect its values and its commitment to social impact.
- LunarLab will work to conduct business without causing unnecessary harm.

- LunarLab will work to create internal policies that are designed to treat all people with dignity, in a supportive and empathetic environment. This includes (but is not limited to) employees, contractors, partners, subsidiaries, suppliers, and clients.
- LunarLab will seek to limit environmental impact by supporting green initiatives and factoring environmental impact into decisions about internal policy and vendor selection.
- LunarLab will share best practices (including proprietary information) with other companies (including direct competitors) when we feel that sharing this information will result in materially positive social or environmental impact.
3. LunarLab supports creating a more equitable world. We will fight injustice and work to celebrate diversity.

4. LunarLab will be transparent with the public about our social impact.
